| Indonesia has a nice international Airport in Jakarta. One thing to note is that if you are leaving the country you have to pay a tax of Rp 1, 000, 000 which is about USD 100 for residents of Indonesia or Rp 100, 000 for tourists. Indonesia does not has a mass rapid train system however it uses bus called Transjakarta with specially built roads for the bus to travel. Its coverage is expanding from central to jakarta to the CBD area as well as more busway being built in other areas but not adequate to travel to all parts effectively. The price is relatively cheap about Rp 3, 500 or USD $0.35. Indonesia has plans to build a MRT network somewhere in 2010. The best and safest way to travel in Indonesia is to rent a car or to use taxi. |
